Peugeot 807 I Indicators: Green and Blue Warnings (2007-2012)

Green and blue warning lamps on the Peugeot 807 built from July 2009 explained: what each light means and what to do, from low fuel to main beam.

Green and blue lamps on your dashboard are mostly there to confirm that something is switched on or working, such as your lights or indicators. A few of them, like the low fuel lamp, also ask you to do something, so it is worth knowing what each one means.

This guide covers the first-generation Peugeot 807 (2007-2012), based on the handbook for vehicles produced from 1 July 2009. Some of these lamps depend on the version or equipment of your car, so you may not see all of them.

Low fuel level

This is the low fuel level lamp on your instrument panel. When it stays lit, you are using the fuel reserve, with approximately 5 litres left in a tank of approximately 80 litres. If it flashes, there is a malfunction of the fuel gauge, or the fuel supply has been cut off following a serious impact.

What to do:

If the lamp is lit:

  • Fill up with fuel without delay. You have enough left for approximately 30 miles (50 km).
  • Bear in mind that this estimate depends on your driving style, the type of road, and the time and distance since the lamp came on.
  • Never keep driving until you run out of fuel, as this could damage the emission control and injection systems.

If the lamp is flashing:

  • Restore the fuel supply, following the "Fuel" section in chapter 6 of your handbook.

Dipped headlamps/ Daytime lights

This is the dipped headlamps lamp on your instrument panel. It lights up when you have switched on the dipped headlamps yourself or they have come on with automatic lighting. Depending on the country your car was sold in, it can also show that the dipped headlamps come on as daytime lights from the moment you switch on the ignition.

What to do:

To switch on the dipped headlamps:

  • Turn the ring on the lights stalk to the second position.

When the lamp is lit:

  • No action is needed. For more on the lighting controls, see the "Steering wheel controls" section in chapter 3 of your handbook.

Main beam headlamps

This is the main beam lamp on your instrument panel. It lights up when you pull the lights stalk towards you to switch on main beam. If it lights up with an audible signal while the ignition is off, you have opened the driver's door with the lights still on.

What to do:

If main beam is on while you are driving:

  • Pull the stalk towards you again to return to dipped headlamps.

If the lamp comes on with an audible signal and the ignition off:

  • Turn the ring on the lights stalk to position 0 to switch the lights off.

Direction indicators

This is the direction indicator lamp on your instrument panel. It flashes, together with a buzzer, when you signal a change of direction using the lights stalk on the left of the steering wheel.

What to do:

  • To indicate right, push the stalk upwards.
  • To indicate left, push the stalk downwards.

Front fog lamps

This is the front fog lamps lamp on your instrument panel. It lights up when you have switched the front fog lamps on yourself.

What to do:

  • Remember that the fog lamps only work when the side lights or dipped headlamps are on.

Automatic gearbox

This is the automatic gearbox display on your instrument panel. It shows the gear lever position you have selected.

What to do:

  • No action is needed. For more on the gearbox display, see the "Instruments and controls" section in chapter 2 of your handbook.

If You're Not Sure

If a lamp comes on and you are not sure what it means, check it against your handbook and look at any message on the display. If anything seems wrong with the way your car is behaving, stop somewhere safe and contact a PEUGEOT dealer.

Green and blue lamps are usually just confirming what you have switched on, but the low fuel lamp is one to act on straight away. Keep this guide handy so you always know what your Peugeot 807 is telling you.
