What each orange warning light on the Peugeot 307 SW (2005-2008) means, from the service and ABS lamps to low fuel, and what you should do next.

Orange warning lamps on your Peugeot 307 SW tell you that something needs your attention. Some show a fault that should be checked, and others simply confirm that a system is switched off or that you need to do something before driving.

This guide covers the Peugeot 307 SW (2005-2008) and is based on handbook edition ed02-07, which applies to vehicles produced from 01/10/2007. This orange lamp is a general alert for a number of different systems. It comes on for a few seconds each time you switch on the ignition. If it stays on, or comes on while the engine is running together with a beep and a message on the multifunction display, it is warning you about one of the following:

  • a battery charge fault (depending on the car)
  • an automatic gearbox fault
  • an engine immobiliser fault
  • an engine management fault
  • a cruise control or speed limiter fault
  • a rear parking assistance fault
  • a fault with the automatic lighting
  • a fault with the automatic headlamp adjustment
  • a fault with the tyre under-inflation detection
  • a deflated tyre
  • a flat battery in the remote control
  • one or more doors open above 6 mph (10 km/h)
  • a low diesel additive level (Diesel)
  • a lack of engine oil
  • the particle emission filter starting to become saturated after very long periods of urban driving, such as low speeds and long traffic jams (Diesel)
