Peugeot 307 SW Indicators: Green and Blue Warnings (2002-2005)

Green and blue warning lights on the Peugeot 307 SW (2002-2005) explained: what the automatic gearbox SPORT and SNOW lights mean and what to do.

Green and blue lights on your dashboard are status lights. They tell you that a system or programme is switched on and working as you asked. In the warning lamps chapter of this handbook, the lights that fall into this group are the SPORT and SNOW indicator lights for the automatic gearbox.

This guide covers the Peugeot 307 SW (2002-2005) and is based on handbook edition ed02-04, which applies to vehicles produced from 01/07/2004. Some lamps depend on the version or equipment of your car. For example, these two lights only appear on cars with an automatic gearbox.

"SPORT" Indicator Light

This is the indicator light marked SPORT on the instrument panel. It comes on when you select the SPORT programme on the automatic gearbox. If it flashes together with the SNOW light, it means the automatic gearbox has an operating fault. You will also hear an audible signal and see the message "Automatic gear fault" on the multi-function display.

What to do:

If the light is on steadily:

  • No action is needed. It simply confirms that the SPORT programme is selected.

If the light is flashing with the SNOW light:

  • Check the multi-function display for the "Automatic gear fault" message.

If the light is flashing with the SPORT light:

  • Check the multi-function display for the "Automatic gear fault" message.

If You're Not Sure

If you are not sure what a light on your dashboard means, check the message on the multi-function display and look it up in your handbook. If a light flashes or comes on with a warning message and you are unsure whether it is safe to carry on, stay calm and stop somewhere safe before you check.

Green and blue lights on your Peugeot 307 SW are there to keep you informed rather than to worry you. Take a moment to learn what the SPORT and SNOW lights look like, and you will know straight away when a programme is selected and when the flashing lights point to a gearbox fault.
