Peugeot 307 I Indicators: Green and Blue Warnings (2002-2005)

Peugeot 307 I (2002-2005) green and blue lamps explained: what the SPORT and SNOW automatic gearbox indicators mean and what to do when they flash.

Green and blue lamps on your dashboard are information lamps. They tell you that a system or programme is switched on, so they are not normally a sign that something is wrong.

This guide covers the Peugeot 307 I (2002-2005), based on handbook edition ed02-04 for cars produced from 1 July 2004. Some lamps depend on the version or equipment of your car. The two lamps below only appear on cars with an automatic gearbox.

"SPORT" Indicator Light

This indicator shows the word SPORT on the instrument panel. It comes on when you select the SPORT programme on the automatic gearbox. If it flashes together with the SNOW indicator, the automatic gearbox has an operating fault.

What to do:

If the light is on steadily:

  • No action is needed, this simply confirms that the SPORT programme is selected.

If the light flashes together with the SNOW indicator:

  • This is accompanied by an audible signal and the message "Automatic gear fault" on the multi-function display.
  • Read the message on the multi-function display to confirm the fault.

This indicator shows the word SNOW on the instrument panel. It comes on when you select the SNOW programme on the automatic gearbox. If it flashes together with the SPORT indicator, the automatic gearbox has an operating fault.

What to do:

If the light is on steadily:

  • No action is needed, this simply confirms that the SNOW programme is selected.

If the light flashes together with the SPORT indicator:

  • This is accompanied by an audible signal and the message "Automatic gear fault" on the multi-function display.
  • Read the message on the multi-function display to confirm the fault.

If You're Not Sure

If you are not sure which lamp you are seeing, check the message on the multi-function display and compare it with your handbook. If a warning appears while you are driving, stay calm and stop somewhere safe before you look into it.

Green and blue lamps are mostly there to keep you informed. Knowing what the SPORT and SNOW indicators mean, and what it means when they flash together, helps you understand what your Peugeot 307 automatic gearbox is telling you.
