- Ignition and lamps off: only change a bulb with the ignition off and after the lamp has been switched off for several minutes. There is a risk of serious burns.
- Do not touch the glass: never touch the bulb directly with your fingers. Hold it with a lint-free cloth.
- Anti-UV bulbs only: use only anti-ultraviolet (UV) type bulbs, so you do not damage the headlamp.
- Same type and specification: always replace a failed bulb with a new one of the same type and specification.
- LED lamps: to replace light emitting diodes (LEDs), you must contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
- Halogen bulbs: check that the bulb sits correctly in its housing, so the lighting stays good.
The headlamps have polycarbonate lenses with a protective coating. To keep that coating and the seals in good condition:
- Do not clean the lenses with a dry or abrasive cloth, or with a detergent or solvent product.
- Use a sponge and soapy water, or a pH neutral product.
- If you use a high pressure washer on stubborn marks, do not keep the lance pointed at the lamps or their edges for too long.
In some weather, such as low temperature or humidity, misting on the inside of the headlamp and rear lamp glass is normal. It clears once the lamps have been on for a few minutes.
Front lamps
Here are the front lamps on your 2008 and the bulb each one uses.
Scroll the table sideways.
| No. | Lamp | Bulb |
|---|
| 1 | Daytime running lamps/sidelamps | LEDs |
| 2 | Dipped beam headlamps | H7 |
| 3 | Direction indicators | PWY24W |
| 4 | Main beam headlamps | H7 |
| 5 | Foglamps (with cornering lighting function, depending on version) | PSX24W |
You reach most of the front bulbs by opening the bonnet. If the engine is warm, take care, as there is a risk of burns. Keep objects and loose clothing away from the engine fan blades, as they could get caught and there is a risk of strangulation. After changing a bulb, close the protective cover very carefully so the lamp stays sealed.
Direction indicators
If an indicator lamp on the instrument panel flashes rapidly, one of the bulbs on that side has failed. Amber bulbs, such as the indicator bulbs, must be replaced with bulbs of the same colour and specification.
- Turn the connector: turn it a quarter turn anti-clockwise.
- Pull the connector: pull the bulb connector out.
- Change the bulb: remove the bulb and fit a new one.
To refit, carry out these steps in reverse order.
Dipped beam headlamps
- Remove the cover: pull on the tab to take off the protective cover.
- Disconnect: unplug the bulb connector.
- Release the bulb: spread the spring to free the bulb.
- Change the bulb: pull the bulb out and fit a new one.
To refit, carry out these steps in reverse order, with the alignment lug at the bottom.
Main beam headlamps
- Remove the cover: pull on the tab to take off the protective cover.
- Disconnect: unplug the bulb connector.
- Change the bulb: pull the bulb out and fit a new one.
To refit, carry out these steps in reverse order, with the alignment lug at the bottom.
Foglamps / directional lamps

- Disconnect: press on the top of the tongue to unplug the bulb holder connector.
- Remove the holder: press the two clips (top and bottom) and pull out the bulb holder.
- Replace the module: fit the new module.
To refit, carry out these steps in reverse order. You can get the module from a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop, who can also replace it for you.
