This red warning shows the coolant temperature on petrol and diesel versions. Depending on the version, it appears as a warning lamp or an LED that stays on, with the temperature needle in the red zone. It means the temperature of the cooling system is too high.
What to do:
- Stop as soon as it is safe to do so and switch off the ignition.
- Wait until the engine has cooled down, then top up the coolant if needed.
- If the problem persists, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
12 V battery charge

This red warning lamp relates to the 12 V battery charge. When it stays on, the battery charging circuit is faulty, for example because of dirty terminals or a loose or broken alternator belt.
What to do:
- Clean and tighten the battery terminals.
- If the warning lamp does not go off when you start the engine, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Power steering

This red warning lamp relates to the power steering. When it stays on, the power steering has a fault.
What to do:
- Drive carefully and keep to a moderate speed.
- Go to a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Seat belts not fastened/unfastened

This red seat belt reminder can stay on or flash, along with an audible signal that gets louder. It means a seat belt has not been fastened or has been unfastened, depending on the version.
What to do:
- Make sure every seat belt is fastened.
Door open

This red warning lamp stays on with a message telling you which opening is open. Depending on the version, it means a door, the boot, the tailgate or the opening rear screen is still open. If you are driving faster than 6 mph (10 km/h), an audible signal also sounds.
What to do:
- Close whichever door or opening is open.
- If your vehicle has a side-hinged door on the right-hand side, this lamp will not warn you when that door is open, so check it yourself.
Electric parking brake

This red lamp relates to the electric parking brake and can light up in two ways. If it stays on, the electric parking brake is applied. If it flashes, applying or releasing the brake is faulty.
What to do:
If the lamp stays on (brake applied):
- Release the electric parking brake before you drive off.
If the lamp flashes (application or release fault):
- Stop as soon as it is safe to do so, parking on flat, level ground.
- With a manual gearbox, engage a gear. With an automatic gearbox or drive selector, select mode P.
- Switch off the ignition and contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
If You're Not Sure
If a red lamp comes on and you are not sure what it means, treat it seriously. Stop somewhere safe, switch off the ignition, check the message on the screen and look up the matching section in your handbook. If you still have doubts, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
