This lamp shows an air bag symbol and comes on for a few seconds when you switch on the ignition. If it comes on with the engine running, along with an audible signal and the message "Air bag fault" on the display, there is a fault with a front, side or curtain air bag.
What to do:
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Low fuel level

This lamp shows a fuel pump symbol and may appear in one of two versions. It comes on for a few seconds each time you switch on the ignition. When it comes on steadily with the message "Fuel level low", you have enough fuel left for about 30 miles (50 km), out of a tank capacity of about 80 litres. If it flashes with the message "Fuel circuit neutralised", the fuel gauge has a fault or the fuel supply has been cut off.
What to do:
If the lamp comes on steadily with "Fuel level low":
- Bear in mind you have about 30 miles (50 km) of fuel left.
If the lamp flashes with "Fuel circuit neutralised":
- Restore the fuel supply, following the "Fuel" section of the "Maintenance" chapter in your handbook.
- Or contact a PEUGEOT dealer, depending on the situation.
Handbrake, low brake fluid level and electronic brake force distribution
This lamp shows a braking symbol and works together with the central STOP warning light. It comes on for a few seconds each time you switch on the ignition. When it comes on, you hear an audible signal and the display shows the cause: "Handbrake on" if the handbrake is on or not released correctly while driving, "Brake fluid level low" if the brake fluid level has dropped too far (the lamp stays lit even with the handbrake released), or "Braking fault" with the ABS warning light also lit, meaning there is a fault with the electronic brake force distribution system.
What to do:
If the display shows "Handbrake on":
- Stop immediately, somewhere safe.
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
If the display shows "Brake fluid level low":
- Stop immediately, somewhere safe.
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
If the display shows "Braking fault" and the ABS lamp is also lit:
- Stop immediately, somewhere safe.
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Pre-heat

This lamp shows a glow plug symbol and comes on for a few seconds each time you switch on the ignition. In cold weather it stays on while the engine pre-heats. If the temperature is high enough, it comes on for less than a second.
What to do:
In cold weather:
- Wait until the lamp goes out before you operate the starter.
If the lamp comes on for less than a second:
- You can start the engine straight away.
Service

This lamp shows a spanner symbol and comes on for a few seconds each time you switch on the ignition. If it stays on or comes on with the engine running, along with an audible signal and a message on the display, it means one of these: low coolant level, low diesel additive reservoir level, the particulate emission filter starting to clog, or water in the diesel fuel. If the message reads "Diesel additive minimum level" or "Risk of clogging of the particulate emission filter", there is a particulate emission filter fault. With the engine running, this happens when the filter starts to clog after unusually long spells of urban driving, such as low speeds and long traffic jams.
What to do:
If the message shows the particulate emission filter is starting to clog:
- As soon as traffic allows, drive at 35 mph (60 km/h) or more for at least five minutes, until the message clears and the service lamp goes out. You may hear relay noise under the dashboard while the filter regenerates.
- If the message is still shown and the service lamp stays on, contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Low coolant level

This lamp shows a coolant symbol and may appear in one of two versions. It works together with the central STOP warning light and the service warning light, and comes on for a few seconds each time you switch on the ignition. If it comes on with the engine running, you will hear an audible signal and see "Top up engine coolant level" on the display.
What to do:
- Stop immediately and let the engine cool before topping up.
- The cooling system is under pressure, so to avoid scalding, unscrew the cap two turns to let the pressure drop, then remove the cap and top up the coolant.
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
If You're Not Sure
If you are not sure what a lamp means, check the message on the display, as it usually tells you the cause. If a lamp linked to the central STOP warning comes on, stop somewhere safe and contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Orange lamps on your Peugeot 807 give you an early warning, so take note of each message and act on it promptly. Keep your handbook in the car for the full details on your version and equipment.
