The icon shown above is the low coolant level warning light, fitted to Diesel models. It comes on briefly each time you switch on the ignition and works together with the central STOP warning light. If it comes on with the engine running, you will also hear a warning sound and see the message "Top up engine coolant level" on the multi-function display.
What to do:
- Stop immediately, somewhere safe.
- Let the engine cool down before topping up the coolant, as the cooling system is under pressure.
Handbrake, low brake fluid level and electronic brake force distribution warning light

The icon shown above is the braking warning light. It comes on briefly each time you switch on the ignition and works together with the central STOP warning light. When it lights up, you will also hear a warning sound, and a message on the multi-function display tells you the cause: the handbrake is on, the brake fluid level is low, or there is a fault with the electronic brake force distribution system (EBFD).
What to do:
If the message reads "Handbrake on", the handbrake is on or has not been released properly while driving:
- Release the handbrake fully.
If the message reads "Brake fluid level low" and the light stays on even with the handbrake released, the brake fluid level has dropped too far:
- Stop immediately, somewhere safe.
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
If the message reads "Braking fault" and the ABS warning light comes on at the same time, there is a fault with the EBFD:
- Stop immediately, somewhere safe.
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
If You're Not Sure
If a red light comes on and you are not sure what it means, stop somewhere safe and check the message on the multi-function display. If you are still unsure, contact a PEUGEOT dealer before driving on.
Red warning lights are your Peugeot 807 telling you something important, so never ignore them. Stay calm, stop where it is safe and follow the steps above to protect yourself, your passengers and your car.
