This red lamp is the braking system symbol.
It can mean one of three things: the handbrake is on or has not been fully released, the brake fluid level has dropped too far (if the lamp stays on with the handbrake released), or there is a fault in the Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBFD) system (if it comes on together with the ABS warning light).
What to do:
If the handbrake is on or not fully released:
- Release the handbrake fully.
If the lamp stays on with the handbrake released:
- Stop immediately, somewhere safe.
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
If the lamp comes on together with the ABS warning light:
- Stop immediately, somewhere safe.
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Battery charge warning light

This red lamp is the battery charge symbol.
It points to a problem with charging. This could be a fault in the charging circuit, loose battery or starter terminals, a cut or slack alternator belt, or an alternator fault.
What to do:
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Seat belt not fastened* warning light

This red lamp is the seat belt symbol.
With the engine running, it comes on when the driver has not fastened their seat belt. It depends on the version or equipment of your car.
What to do:
If You're Not Sure
If a red lamp comes on and you are not sure what it means, stay calm, stop somewhere safe and check your owner's handbook. If you are still in doubt, contact a PEUGEOT dealer before you carry on driving.
Red lamps are your 206 CC's way of telling you something needs attention now. Knowing what each one means helps you react quickly and keep yourself and your car safe.
