Green and blue lamps on your instrument panel are the friendly ones. They tell you that a system or function is switched on or working as it should, so they are there for information rather than to warn you of a fault.

This guide covers the Peugeot 2008 II from 2025 onwards, based on handbook edition ed05-25 for vehicles produced from 02/05/2025. Some of these lamps depend on the version or equipment of your car, so you may not see all of them.

Stop & Start (MHEV)

Stop & Start (MHEV) warning lamp icon

This lamp shows the Stop & Start symbol. It stays on steadily when the vehicle stops and the Stop & Start system puts the engine into STOP mode. A time counter works out how long you spend in STOP mode during a journey, and it resets each time you switch on the ignition.

What to do:

  • Nothing is needed. This simply confirms that the engine is in STOP mode while you are stopped.

Vehicle ready to drive (BEV)

What to do:

If the lamp is on steadily with an audible signal:

  • The vehicle is ready, so you can set off when you are ready.

If the lamp goes out as you move off and comes back on when you stop:

  • The lamp goes out once you switch off the motor and get out of the vehicle.

This lamp shows the automatic headlight dipping symbol. When it is on steadily, the function has been activated through the touch screen and the ring on the lighting control stalk is in the "AUTO" position.

What to do:

  • Nothing is needed. For more details, see the Lighting and visibility section of your handbook.

Main beam headlights

Main beam headlights warning lamp icon

This lamp shows the main beam symbol. When it is on steadily, your main beam headlights are on.

What to do:

  • Nothing is needed. This confirms that the main beam headlights are switched on.

If You're Not Sure

A lamp coming on may also be accompanied by an audible signal or a message on a screen. Look at what else your car is telling you along with the lamp, as this helps you tell whether everything is normal. For more information on any system or function, see the matching section of your handbook.

Green and blue lamps are simply your Peugeot 2008 keeping you informed, so there is usually nothing to worry about. If you also see a red or orange lamp, check our guides to those colours to find out what it means and what you should do.
