This red battery lamp stays on when the battery charging circuit is faulty. Possible causes include dirty battery terminals or a loose or broken alternator belt.
What to do:
- Stop as soon as it is safe to do so and switch off the ignition.
- If the electric parking brake stops working, keep the car from moving: engage a gear with a manual gearbox, select P with the EAT6 automatic gearbox, or place the wheel chock against one of the wheels with the EAT8 automatic gearbox or drive selector.
- Clean and tighten the battery terminals. If the lamp stays on after you start the engine, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Door(s) open

This red door lamp stays on with a message showing which door or the tailgate is not properly closed. Above 6 mph (10 km/h) you will also hear an audible signal.
What to do:
Below 6 mph (10 km/h), the lamp and message appear without a sound:
- Close the door or tailgate shown in the message.
Above 6 mph (10 km/h), the lamp and message come with an audible signal:
- Stop somewhere safe and close the door or tailgate shown in the message.
Seat belts not fastened/unfastened

This red seat belt lamp stays on or flashes, along with an audible signal that grows louder. It means a seat belt has not been fastened or has been undone.
What to do:
Manual parking brake

This red parking brake lamp stays on when the parking brake is applied or has not been fully released.
What to do:
- Release the parking brake fully.
Electric parking brake

This red parking brake lamp stays on when the electric parking brake is applied. If it flashes, there is a fault applying or releasing the brake.
What to do:
If the lamp stays on:
- Release the electric parking brake before you drive off.
If the lamp flashes:
- Stop as soon as it is safe to do so, ideally on flat, level ground.
- Engage a gear with a manual gearbox, or select P with an automatic gearbox or drive selector.
- Switch off the ignition and contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Braking

This red braking lamp can come on for two reasons. If the braking lamp stays on by itself, the brake fluid level in the braking circuit has dropped a lot. If it stays on together with the ABS lamp, the electronic brake force distribution (EBFD) system is faulty.
What to do:
If the braking lamp stays on by itself (low brake fluid):
- Stop as soon as it is safe to do so and switch off the ignition.
- Top up the brake fluid with fluid that meets the manufacturer's recommendations.
- If the problem continues, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
If the braking lamp and the ABS lamp stay on together (EBFD fault):
- Stop as soon as it is safe to do so and switch off the ignition.
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
If You're Not Sure
If you are not sure what a red lamp means, or it comes on alongside a message you do not understand, stay calm and stop somewhere safe. Check the message on the screen and your handbook. If in doubt, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
