Green and blue lamps on your instrument panel are operation indicators. When one comes on, it confirms that the matching system has been switched on, so in most cases they are simply there to keep you informed.

This guide covers the first-generation Peugeot 2008 (2013-2015) and is based on handbook edition ed01-14, which applies to vehicles produced from 1 May 2014. Some lamps depend on your car's version or equipment, so you may not see all of them.

This lamp shows the Stop & Start symbol. It can stay on steadily or flash for a few seconds, and each tells you something different.

When it stays on steadily, the Stop & Start system has put the engine into STOP mode because the car has stopped, for example at red lights or in a traffic jam.

When it flashes for a few seconds and then goes off, either STOP mode is temporarily unavailable or START mode has been triggered automatically.

What to do:

If the lamp stays on steadily:

  • As soon as you want to move off, the engine restarts automatically in START mode and the lamp goes off.

If the lamp flashes for a few seconds, then goes off:

  • For special cases with STOP mode and START mode, see the "Stop & Start" section of your handbook.

If You're Not Sure

If a lamp comes on and you are not sure why, check the message shown on the screen alongside it. If you run into any problems, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.

Green and blue lamps are mostly good news: they confirm that a system you have selected is working. Get to know them and you will spot quickly when something on your Peugeot 2008 has been switched on.
