What to do:
If the lamp comes on when you switch on the ignition:
- Check that it goes off after a few seconds.
- If it does not go off, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.

Parking brake

This is the parking brake warning lamp. It comes on steady when the parking brake is applied or has not been released properly.

Braking

This is the braking warning lamp, and it can come on in two different situations.
If the braking warning lamp comes on steady on its own, the brake fluid level has dropped significantly, or there is a fault with the braking assistance system. If the braking warning lamp comes on steady together with the ABS warning lamp, the electronic brake force distribution (EBFD) system is faulty.
What to do:
If the braking warning lamp is on by itself:
- Stop as soon as it is safe to do so.
- Top up the brake fluid with fluid approved by PEUGEOT.
- If the problem continues, have the system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
If the braking warning lamp is on together with the ABS warning lamp:
- You must stop as soon as it is safe to do so.
- Have the system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
If You're Not Sure
If a red lamp comes on and you are not sure what it means, stay calm and stop somewhere safe when you can. Check your Peugeot iOn handbook for the lamp you are seeing, and if it points to a fault, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop for advice.
Red lamps on your Peugeot iOn are worth taking seriously, but many of them only need a quick action from you, such as fastening a belt or closing a door. Get to know what each one means and you will know exactly how to respond when one appears.
