This is another version of the orange electric parking brake automatic functions symbol. When it stays on steadily, automatic application (when you switch off the engine) and automatic release are either switched off or faulty.
What to do:
- Switch the function back on in the vehicle configuration menu, where this is available in your country.
- If automatic application or release still does not work, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
- You can release the parking brake by hand using the emergency release procedure. See the electric parking brake section of your handbook for details.
Braking

This is the braking warning symbol. When it stays on steadily together with the ABS warning lamp, the electronic brake force distribution (EBFD) system has a fault.
What to do:
- Stay calm and stop as soon as it is safe to do so.
- Have the car checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)

This is the orange ABS symbol. When it stays on steadily, the anti-lock braking system has a fault. Your normal braking still works.
What to do:
- Drive carefully at a reduced speed.
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop without delay.
Dynamic stability control (DSC/ASR)

These lamps relate to the dynamic stability control (DSC/ASR) system.
If the DSC/ASR lamp flashes, the system is working. It is improving traction and helping to keep the car stable and on course.
If the DSC/ASR fault lamp stays on steadily and you have not switched the system off (with the button pressed and its indicator lamp on), the DSC/ASR system has a fault.
What to do:
If the lamp is flashing:
- This is normal. The system is doing its job.
If the lamp stays on steadily:
- Have the system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Engine autodiagnosis system

This is the orange engine autodiagnosis symbol.
If it flashes, the engine management system has a fault and there is a risk of destroying the catalytic converter.
If it stays on steadily, the emission control system has a fault.
What to do:
If the lamp is flashing:
- Have the car checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
If the lamp stays on steadily:
- The lamp should go off when you start the engine.
- If it does not go off, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop without delay.
Airbags

This is the orange airbag symbol.
It comes on for a few seconds when you switch on the ignition, then goes off. This is normal.
If it stays on steadily, there is a fault with one of the airbag or seat belt pretensioner systems.
What to do:
If the lamp comes on briefly at ignition:
- It should go off when you start the engine.
- If it does not go off, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
If the lamp stays on steadily:
- Have the system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Under-inflation

These lamps relate to the tyre pressure monitoring system.
If the under-inflation lamp stays on steadily, the pressure in one or more tyres is too low.
If the tyre pressure lamp flashes and then stays on, together with the Service warning lamp, the tyre pressure monitoring system has a fault, or no sensor is being detected on one of the wheels. Low tyre pressure can no longer be detected reliably.
What to do:
If the lamp stays on steadily:
- Check your tyre pressures as soon as possible.
- Ideally, do this when the tyres are cold.
If the lamp flashes and then stays on with the Service lamp:
- Have the tyre pressure monitoring system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
If You're Not Sure
If you are not sure what a lamp means, read the message on the instrument panel screen and check the warning lamp section of your handbook. If you are still unsure, or a lamp stays on when it should not, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Orange lamps rarely mean you need to stop straight away, but they should not be ignored. Note whether the lamp is steady or flashing and take the action listed above.
