This orange lamp relates to the particle emission filter on diesel engines. With the engine running, it means the filter is starting to become saturated, usually after exceptionally long spells of low-speed town driving or traffic jams, or that the diesel additive reservoir level is low. After long periods at very low speed or idling, you may occasionally see water vapour from the exhaust when accelerating, which does not affect the car's performance or the environment.
What to do:
- As soon as traffic conditions allow, drive at 40 mph (60 km/h) or above for at least five minutes, until the lamp goes out, to regenerate the filter.
- If the lamp stays on, contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
