This is the red 12V battery charge lamp. When it stays on, the battery charging circuit is faulty, for example because of dirty terminals or a loose or severed alternator belt.
What to do:
- Stop as soon as it is safe to do so and switch off the ignition.
- If the electric parking brake stops working, keep the car from moving: with a manual gearbox, engage a gear; with an automatic gearbox, place chocks against one of the wheels.
- Clean and tighten the battery terminals.
- If the lamp does not go off when you start the engine, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Door(s) open

This is the red door open lamp. It stays on with a message telling you which door or opening is affected, and if you are travelling faster than 6 mph (10 km/h) you will also hear an audible signal. It means a door or the boot is not properly closed.
What to do:
- Stop somewhere safe and close the door or boot properly.
Seat belts not fastened/unfastened

This is the red seat belt lamp. It stays on or flashes, together with an audible signal that gets louder. It means a seat belt has not been fastened or has been unfastened.
What to do:
- Make sure everyone in the car fastens their seat belt.
Electric parking brake

This is the red electric parking brake lamp. When it stays on, the electric parking brake is applied. When it flashes, applying or releasing the parking brake is not working properly.
What to do:
If the lamp stays on:
- Release the parking brake before you drive off.
If the lamp is flashing:
- Stop as soon as it is safe to do so, parking on flat, level ground.
- With a manual gearbox, engage a gear. With an automatic gearbox, select P.
- Switch off the ignition and contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Braking

The braking warning can appear in two ways. If the red braking lamp stays on by itself, the brake fluid level in the braking circuit has dropped significantly. If two lamps stay on together, the electronic brake force distribution (EBFD) system is faulty.
What to do:
If the braking lamp stays on by itself (low brake fluid):
- Stop as soon as it is safe to do so and switch off the ignition.
- Top up the brake fluid with fluid that meets the manufacturer's recommendations.
- If the problem persists, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
If the two lamps stay on together (EBFD fault):
- Stop as soon as it is safe to do so and switch off the ignition.
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
If You're Not Sure
If a red lamp comes on and you are not sure what it means, stay calm, stop somewhere safe and switch off the ignition. Check any message on the screen, look up the lamp in your handbook, and if you are still unsure, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Red lamps are your 3008's way of telling you that something needs attention straight away. Knowing what each one means helps you react calmly and keep yourself and your passengers safe.
