This is the power steering symbol. When it stays on steadily, the power steering has a fault.
What to do:
- Drive carefully at reduced speed.
- Have the car checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Water in Diesel

This is the water in Diesel symbol, which may appear in either of the two versions shown. When it stays on steadily, there is water in the Diesel fuel filter.
What to do:
- There is a risk of damage to the Diesel injection system.
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop without delay.
Punctured wheel

This is the punctured wheel symbol. When it stays on steadily, one or more wheels are punctured or seriously deflated.
What to do:
- Stop immediately, avoiding any sudden steering or braking.
- Repair or change the damaged wheel.
- Have the tyre pressures checked as soon as possible.
Passenger's airbag system
This is another version of the passenger airbag symbol. When it stays on steadily, the control in the glove box is set to OFF and the passenger's front airbag is deactivated. You can then fit a rearward facing child seat, unless the Airbag warning lamp shows an airbag fault.
What to do:
- To activate the passenger's front airbag, set the control in the glove box to ON.
- With the airbag activated, do not fit a child seat in the rearward facing position.
DSC/ASR

This is the DSC/ASR button indicator. When it stays on steadily, the button in the centre of the dashboard has been pressed and the DSC/ASR is deactivated. DSC is dynamic stability control and ASR is anti-slip regulation.
What to do:
- Press the button again to switch the DSC/ASR back on. The indicator lamp goes off.
- The system also switches back on by itself from about 30 mph (50 km/h), and every time you start the car.
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
This is the ABS symbol. When it stays on steadily, the anti-lock braking system has a fault.
What to do:
- Your car still has conventional braking, so drive carefully at reduced speed.
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop without delay.
Electronic stability programme (ESP/ASR)

This is another version of the ESP/ASR warning symbol. It flashes while the system is working and stays on steadily if there is a fault.
What to do:
If the lamp is flashing, the ESP/ASR is actively working:
- The system is optimising traction and improving your car's directional stability.
If the lamp stays on steadily and you have not switched the system off with its button, the ESP/ASR has a fault:
- Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Engine autodiagnosis system
This is the engine warning symbol. It can flash or stay on steadily, and each points to a different fault.
What to do:
If the lamp is flashing, the engine management system has a fault:
- There is a risk of destroying the catalytic converter.
- Have the car checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
If the lamp stays on steadily, the emission control system has a fault:
- The lamp should go off when you start the engine.
- If it does not go off, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop without delay.
Low fuel level
This is the fuel pump symbol. When it first comes on and stays on, there are about 5 litres of fuel left in the tank.
What to do:
- Refuel as soon as possible. The lamp comes on every time you switch on the ignition until you add enough fuel. The tank holds about 50 litres (petrol) or 48 litres (Diesel).
- Never drive until the tank runs dry, as this could damage the emission control and injection systems.
Directional headlamps

The handbook lists this lamp under directional headlamps, but the meaning it gives relates to the tyres. When it stays on steadily, the pressure in one or more wheels is too low.
What to do:
- Check your tyre pressures as soon as possible.
- If you can, check them when the tyres are cold.
Underinflation

This is the tyre underinflation symbol. When it flashes and then stays on, together with the Service warning lamp, the tyre pressure monitoring system has a fault or no sensor has been detected on one of the wheels.
What to do:
- Bear in mind that low tyre pressure may not be detected.
- Have the system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Punctured wheel
This is another version of the punctured wheel symbol. When it stays on steadily, one or more wheels are punctured or seriously deflated.
What to do:
- Stop immediately, avoiding any sudden steering or braking.
- Repair or change the damaged wheel.
- Have the tyre pressures checked as soon as possible.
If You're Not Sure
Some lamps come on for a few seconds when you switch on the ignition and should go off once the engine starts. If one stays on, check what it means before you drive off. Many warnings also come with a message on the screen and a beep, so read the message carefully. If you are still not sure what a lamp is telling you, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Orange lamps are your Peugeot 207 CC's way of asking for attention before a small issue becomes a bigger one. Take a moment to understand each warning, act on it calmly, and you will keep your car running safely for many miles to come.
