This lamp shows the ABS symbol. When it stays on steadily, the anti-lock braking system has a fault. You still have conventional braking.
What to do:
- Drive carefully at a reduced speed.
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop without delay.
Dynamic stability control (DSC/ASR)

This lamp shows the DSC/ASR symbol. When it flashes, the system is working to optimise traction and keep the car stable if it loses grip or starts to leave its line. When it stays on steadily, the DSC/ASR system has a fault.
What to do:
If the lamp is flashing:
- No action is needed. The system is working to help you keep traction and directional stability.
If the lamp is on steadily:
- Have the system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Power steering

This lamp shows the power steering symbol. When it stays on steadily, the power steering has a fault.
What to do:
- Drive carefully at a reduced speed.
- Have the car checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Engine autodiagnosis system

This lamp shows the engine symbol. If it stays on steadily, the emission control system has a fault, and if it flashes, the engine management system has a fault. A second engine icon that stays on together with the SERVICE warning lamp means a minor engine fault has been detected.
What to do:
If the engine lamp is on steadily:
- The lamp should go off once the engine has started.
- If it stays on, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop without delay.
If the engine lamp is flashing:
- There is a risk of damaging the catalytic converter beyond repair.
- Have the car checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
If the second engine icon is on with the SERVICE lamp:
- Have the car checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
AdBlue® additive (BlueHDi Diesel)

These lamps show the AdBlue® level and come with an audible signal and a message. If the first AdBlue® icon stays on steadily when you switch on the ignition, you have between 350 and 1500 miles (600 to 2400 km) of driving range left. If the other icons flash together with the SERVICE warning lamp, you have less than 350 miles (600 km) left, or the tank is empty and the engine will not start, as required by law.
What to do:
If the lamp is on steadily with a range of 350 to 1500 miles:
- Have the AdBlue® tank topped up as soon as possible, either at a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop, or yourself using the matching section of the handbook.
If the lamps are flashing with a range of less than 350 miles:
- Top up the AdBlue® tank to avoid a breakdown, either at a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop, or yourself using the matching section of the handbook.
If the lamps are flashing and the message says starting is prevented:
- You must top up the AdBlue® tank before the engine will start, either at a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop, or yourself using the matching section of the handbook.
- Add at least 3.8 litres of AdBlue® to the tank.
SCR emissions control system (BlueHDi Diesel)

This lamp shows the SCR emissions control symbol and comes on when you switch on the ignition, together with the SERVICE and engine diagnostic warning lamps, an audible signal and a message. If it stays on steadily, a fault has been detected. If it flashes, the fault has been confirmed and you can drive for up to 650 miles (1100 km) before the engine is prevented from starting, or you have already passed that limit and the engine will not start.
What to do:
If the lamp is on steadily:
- The alert clears once the exhaust emissions are back to normal levels.
If the lamp is flashing and the message shows the remaining range:
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop without delay to avoid a breakdown.
If the lamp is flashing and the engine will not start:
- Call on a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop so the engine can be started again.
Under-inflation

If the tyre pressure icon stays on steadily, the pressure in one or more tyres is too low. If the other icons flash and then stay on together with the Service warning lamp, the tyre pressure monitoring system has a fault or cannot detect a sensor on one of the wheels.
What to do:
If the tyre pressure icon is on steadily:
- Check your tyre pressures as soon as possible.
- Ideally, check them when the tyres are cold.
If the icons flash and then stay on with the Service lamp:
- The system can no longer warn you about low tyre pressure.
- Have the system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Airbags

This lamp shows the airbag symbol. It normally comes on for a few seconds when you switch on the ignition, then goes off. If it stays on steadily, one of the airbag or seat belt pretensioner systems has a fault.
What to do:
When you switch on the ignition:
- The lamp should go off once the engine has started.
- If it stays on, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
If the lamp is on steadily:
- Have the system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
If You're Not Sure
If an orange lamp comes on and you are not sure what it means, read the message in the instrument panel or multifunction screen, as it explains the fault in more detail. If you are still unsure or something does not feel right, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Orange lamps rarely mean you must stop straight away, but they should never be ignored. Deal with each one as described above and your Peugeot 2008 will keep looking after you on every journey.
