Green and blue lamps on your instrument panel are operation indicator lamps. When one comes on, it simply confirms that the system concerned has been switched on and is working. They are there to keep you informed rather than to warn you of a fault.

This guide covers the first-generation Peugeot 2008 produced from 04/05/2015 (around 2015 to 2016), based on handbook edition ed01-15. Some lamps depend on the version or equipment of your car, so you may not see every one of them.

Stop & Start

Stop & Start warning lamp icon

This is the Stop & Start indicator lamp. It can either stay on steadily or flash briefly, and each tells you something different.

If it stays on steadily, the Stop & Start system has put the engine into STOP mode because the car has come to a stop, for example at red lights or in a traffic jam.

If it flashes for a few seconds and then goes off, either STOP mode is temporarily unavailable or START mode has been triggered automatically.

What to do:

If the lamp stays on steadily:

  • Nothing is needed from you. As soon as you want to move off, the lamp goes off and the engine restarts automatically in START mode.

If the lamp flashes for a few seconds, then goes off:

  • For details of the special cases with STOP mode and START mode, see the "Stop & Start" section of your handbook.

If You're Not Sure

Some lamps come on with a buzzer and a message in the instrument panel or multifunction screen, so read that message for more detail. If you encounter any problems, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.

Green and blue lamps are good news: they simply confirm that a system on your Peugeot 2008 is switched on and doing its job. For the red and amber lamps, take a look at our other warning light guides.
