Access to the tools

The fuse boxes are below the dashboard in the passenger compartment and beside the battery in the engine compartment. The extraction tweezers are clipped to the fuse box under the bonnet.

  1. Remove the plastic cover: press on both tabs to unclip the plastic cover at the bottom of the windscreen. Take care not to remove the seal when you do this.
  2. Open the fuse box: press on the right of the tab to unclip the fuse box cover.
  3. Take out the tweezers: remove the tweezers from the fuse box.

Changing a fuse

Before you change a fuse, prepare the car and find the right fuse.

  1. Find the cause: identify why the fuse failed and put it right.
  2. Switch off consumers: turn off all electrical equipment.
  3. Secure the car: immobilise the vehicle and switch off the ignition.
  4. Find the fuse: identify the faulty fuse using the fuse tables in this guide.
  5. Remove the fuse: use the special tweezers to pull the fuse out of its slot.
  6. Check the filament: look at the filament to see whether the fuse is OK or has failed.
  7. Fit a new fuse: always replace it with a fuse of the same rating (same colour). A different rating could cause a fault and a risk of fire.

If the new fuse fails again soon after you fit it, have the electrical system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.

Your car's electrical system is designed to work with standard or optional equipment. Before you fit any other electrical equipment or accessories, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop. PEUGEOT will not pay for repairs or for putting right faults caused by accessories it has not supplied or recommended, or that were not fitted in line with its instructions. This applies in particular when the combined consumption of all the extra equipment connected exceeds 10 milliamperes.

Fuses in the dashboard

The passenger compartment fuse box is under the dashboard on the driver's side. Unclip the white plastic tab to reach the fuses, and refit the cover carefully when you have finished.
