Peugeot 108 I Indicators: Green and Blue Warnings (2014-2015)

What every green and blue warning lamp on the Peugeot 108 I (2014-2015) means, from indicators and headlamps to Stop & Start and keyless entry.

Green and blue lamps on your instrument panel are mostly indicator lamps. They confirm that a system has been switched on or is working, so in most cases they are simply there to keep you informed. Some can come on steady or flashing, and how the lamp lights up tells you whether everything is normal.

This guide covers the first-generation Peugeot 108 (2014-2015), based on handbook edition ed01-14 for vehicles produced from 1 May 2014. Some lamps only appear on certain versions or with certain equipment, such as the VTi 68 or e-VTi 68 engine, front foglamps or the Keyless Entry and Starting system.

If the lamp is on steadily:

  • You can start the engine. For more details, see the handbook section on starting and stopping the engine with the Keyless Entry and Starting system.

The gear shift indicator has two lamps on your instrument panel: one for changing up and one for changing down.

What to do:

If the change-up lamp is on:

  • You can change up. For more details, see the gear shift indicator section of the handbook.

Keyless Entry and Starting system

The Keyless Entry and Starting system uses two further lamps to alert you to a problem.

The first lamp flashes quickly when the steering column has not been unlocked. The second lamp comes on if you leave the car without switching to OFF mode, if the electronic key has not been detected, or if the Keyless Entry and Starting system has a fault.

What to do:

If the steering column lamp is flashing quickly:

  • Switch to OFF mode, then to ON mode.
  • Turn the steering wheel slightly to unlock the steering column.

If you are leaving the car without switching to OFF mode:

  • With the electronic key on you, press the START/STOP button to switch to OFF mode.

If the electronic key has not been detected:

  • Check that you have the electronic key with you.

If the system has a fault:

  • Have the system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.

If You're Not Sure

Remember that some lamps come on for a few seconds when you switch on the ignition and should go off once the engine starts. If a lamp stays on and you are not sure why, check your handbook before moving off, and if you are still unsure, do not hesitate to contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.

Green and blue lamps on your Peugeot 108 are mostly good news, confirming that a system is on or working as it should. Get to know them and you will quickly spot the one that needs your attention.
