Accessing the tools

The extraction tweezers are kept behind the fusebox cover. How you reach them depends on the version of your car.

On some versions:

  1. Unclip the cover: pull at the top left, then at the right.
  2. Remove the cover: take it off completely.
  3. Take the tweezers: remove them from their housing.

On other versions:

  1. Open the glove box: this gives you access to the fusebox cover.
  2. Press the handle: push on the central handle of the fusebox cover.
  3. Lower the cover: let it down completely.
  4. Take the tweezers: remove them from their housing.

Changing a fuse

Before you change a fuse, work through these steps:

  1. Find the cause: identify what caused the fault and fix it.
  2. Switch off consumers: turn off all electrical equipment.
  3. Immobilise the car: make sure the car cannot move and switch off the ignition.
  4. Find the fuse: identify the defective fuse using the allocation tables and diagrams.

When you replace the fuse:

  1. Remove the fuse: use the special tweezers to pull it out of its housing.
  2. Check the filament: look at it to see whether the fuse is good or faulty.
  3. Fit the same rating: always use a replacement fuse of the same rating, which means the same colour.

Using a fuse of a different rating can cause malfunctions and there is a risk of fire. Only replace fuses shown in the allocation tables: changing a fuse that is not listed could cause a serious malfunction of the car, so consult a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop. For the complete allocation tables and diagrams, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.

If the fault comes back soon after you replace a fuse, have the electrical system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.

Your car's electrical system is designed to work with standard or optional equipment. Before you fit any other electrical equipment or accessories, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop. PEUGEOT accepts no responsibility for repair costs or for fixing malfunctions caused by accessories that it has not supplied or recommended, or that were not installed according to its recommendations. This applies in particular when the combined power consumption of all the extra equipment connected exceeds 10 milliamperes.

Fuses in the dashboard

The dashboard fusebox is in the lower dashboard, on the left-hand side. To reach the fuses, follow the same steps as for accessing the fuse tweezers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the fuse box on a Peugeot 5008?

There are two: one in the lower dashboard on the left-hand side, and one in the engine compartment near the battery.

Where are the fuse removal tweezers on the Peugeot 5008?

The extraction tweezers are kept in a housing behind the dashboard fusebox cover. On some versions you reach the cover by opening the glove box.

Which fuse is the 12V socket on a Peugeot 5008?

On Version 1 (Full), F33 (15 A) protects the front 12 V accessory socket and F17 (10 A) in Box 1 protects the boot 12 V accessory socket. On Version 2 (Eco), F32 (15 A) protects the cigarette lighter.

Can I use a higher rated fuse in my Peugeot 5008?

No. Always replace a failed fuse with one of the same rating and colour, because a different rating can cause malfunctions and there is a risk of fire.
