This is the ABS symbol. When it stays on, the anti-lock braking system has a fault, but your car still has conventional braking.
What to do:
- Drive carefully at reduced speed.
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop without delay.
Dynamic stability control (DSC/ASR)

This is the stability control symbol. When it flashes, the DSC/ASR system is working. When it stays on, the DSC/ASR system has a fault.
What to do:
If the lamp is flashing:
- The system is working to improve traction and keep the car stable if it loses grip or starts to leave its line.
If the lamp stays on:
- Have the system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Engine autodiagnosis system

This is the engine diagnostic symbol. When it flashes, the engine management system has a fault and there is a risk of destroying the catalytic converter. When it stays on, the emission control system has a fault.
What to do:
If the lamp is flashing:
- Have the engine checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
If the lamp stays on:
- The lamp should go off once the engine has started.
- If it doesn't go off, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop without delay.
AdBlue® additive (BlueHDi Diesel)

This lamp warns you about the AdBlue® level on BlueHDi Diesel versions, with an audible signal and a message on the screen. If one of the first two AdBlue® symbols stays on when you switch on the ignition, your remaining range is between 350 miles (600 km) and 1500 miles (2400 km). If one of the other two AdBlue® symbols flashes with the SERVICE lamp, your remaining range is between 0 and 350 miles (600 km), or the tank is empty and the starting inhibition system required by law prevents the engine from starting.
What to do:
If the lamp stays on, showing a range of 350 to 1500 miles:
- Have the AdBlue® tank topped up as soon as possible, either at a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop, or by doing it yourself.
If the lamp flashes, showing a range of 0 to 350 miles:
- Top up the AdBlue® tank to avoid a breakdown, either at a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop, or by doing it yourself.
If the lamp flashes and the message says starting is prevented:
- Top up the AdBlue® tank before you can start the engine, either at a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop, or by doing it yourself.
- You must add at least 3.8 litres of AdBlue® to the tank.
SCR emissions control system (BlueHDi Diesel)

This is the SCR emissions control symbol on BlueHDi Diesel versions. It comes on when you switch on the ignition, together with the SERVICE and engine diagnostic lamps, an audible signal and a message. If it stays on, a fault with the SCR system has been detected. If it flashes and shows your remaining range, the fault has been confirmed and you can drive for up to 650 miles (1 100 km) before the starting inhibition system is triggered. If it flashes after you have gone past that limit, the starting inhibition system prevents the engine from starting.
What to do:
If the lamp stays on:
- The alert clears once exhaust emissions return to normal levels.
If the lamp flashes and shows your remaining range:
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop without delay to avoid a breakdown.
If the lamp flashes and the engine won't start:
- Call a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop, as you need them to be able to start the engine.
Airbags

This is the airbag symbol. It normally comes on for a few seconds when you switch on the ignition and then goes off. If it stays on, one of the airbag or seat belt pretensioner systems has a fault.
What to do:
If the lamp comes on briefly at ignition:
- It should go off once the engine has started.
- If it doesn't go off, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
If the lamp stays on:
- Have the system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Water in Diesel

This is the water in Diesel symbol. When it stays on, there is water in the Diesel fuel filter, which risks damaging the injection system.
What to do:
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop without delay.
Under-inflation

This lamp can mean two different things. If the under-inflation symbol stays on, the pressure in one or more tyres is too low. If the tyre pressure system symbol flashes and then stays on, together with the Service lamp, the tyre pressure monitoring system has a fault or no sensor is detected on one of the wheels, so under-inflation detection is not guaranteed.
What to do:
If the under-inflation lamp stays on:
- Check your tyre pressures as soon as possible.
- Do the check when the tyres are cold, if you can.
If the lamp flashes and then stays on with the Service lamp:
- Have the system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
If You're Not Sure
If an orange lamp comes on and you're not sure what it means, read the message on the multifunction screen, as it often explains the problem. If you're still unsure, stop somewhere safe and contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop for advice.
Orange lamps rarely mean you have to stop straight away, but they are worth acting on. Keep this guide handy, check the message on the screen whenever a lamp comes on, and refer to your 5008 handbook for full details on each system.
