This orange lamp relates to the ABS. When it is on steadily, the anti-lock braking system has a fault. Your car still has conventional braking.
What to do:
- Drive carefully at a reduced speed.
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop without delay.
Dynamic stability control (DSC/ASR)

This orange lamp relates to the DSC/ASR system. When it flashes, the system is working to improve traction and keep the car stable if it loses grip or starts to leave its line. When it stays on steadily, the DSC/ASR system has a fault.
What to do:
If the lamp is flashing:
- No action is needed, as this shows the system is helping you keep grip and stability.
If the lamp is on steadily:
- Have the system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Engine autodiagnosis system

This orange lamp is the engine diagnostic warning lamp. When it flashes, the engine management system has a fault and there is a risk of destroying the catalytic converter. When it stays on steadily, the emission control system has a fault.
What to do:
If the lamp is flashing:
- Have the engine checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
If the lamp is on steadily:
- The lamp should go off when you start the engine.
- If it does not go off, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop without delay.
AdBlue® additive (BlueHDi Diesel)

These orange lamps warn about the AdBlue® level on BlueHDi Diesel versions. If the AdBlue® lamp comes on steadily when you switch on the ignition, with a beep and a range message, you have between 350 miles (600 km) and 1500 miles (2400 km) left. If the lamp flashes with the SERVICE lamp, a beep and a range message, you have between 0 and 375 miles (600 km) left. If it flashes with the SERVICE lamp, a beep and a message saying starting is prevented, the AdBlue® tank is empty and the legally required starting inhibition system stops the engine from starting.
What to do:
If the lamp is on steadily with a range message:
- Have the AdBlue® tank topped up as soon as possible by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop, or do it yourself using the AdBlue® section of your handbook.
If the lamp is flashing with a range message:
- Top up the AdBlue® tank to avoid a breakdown, either at a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop, or yourself using the AdBlue® section of your handbook.
If the lamp is flashing and starting is prevented:
- Top up the AdBlue® tank so that you can start the engine, either at a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop, or yourself using the AdBlue® section of your handbook.
- You must add at least 3.8 litres of AdBlue® to the tank.
SCR emissions control system (BlueHDi Diesel)

This orange lamp relates to the SCR emissions control system on BlueHDi Diesel versions and comes on with the SERVICE and engine diagnostic lamps, a beep and a message when you switch on the ignition. If it stays on steadily with an emissions control fault message, a fault with the SCR system has been detected. If it flashes with a range message, you have between 0 and 650 miles (1 100 km) left. If it flashes with a message saying starting is prevented, you have gone past the authorised driving limit and the starting inhibition system stops the engine from starting.
What to do:
If the lamp is on steadily:
- The alert will clear once the exhaust emissions are back to normal levels.
If the lamp is flashing with a range message:
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop without delay to avoid a breakdown.
If the lamp is flashing and starting is prevented:
- Call a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop, as you need their help to be able to start the engine.
Airbags

This orange lamp is the airbag warning lamp. It comes on for a few seconds when you switch on the ignition and then goes off. If it stays on steadily, one of the airbag or seat belt pretensioner systems has a fault.
What to do:
When you switch on the ignition:
- The lamp should go off when you start the engine.
- If it does not go off, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
If the lamp stays on steadily:
- Have the system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Water in Diesel

This orange lamp warns about water in the fuel. When it is on steadily, the Diesel fuel filter contains water, which risks damaging the injection system on Diesel engines.
What to do:
- Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop without delay.
Under-inflation

These orange lamps relate to tyre pressure. If the under-inflation lamp stays on steadily, the pressure in one or more tyres is too low. If the tyre pressure monitoring lamp flashes and then stays on, together with the Service lamp, the system has a fault or no sensor is detected on one of the wheels, so under-inflation detection cannot be relied on.
What to do:
If the under-inflation lamp is on steadily:
- Check your tyre pressures as soon as possible.
- Ideally, check them when the tyres are cold.
If the lamp flashes and then stays on with the Service lamp:
- Have the tyre pressure monitoring system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
If You're Not Sure
If an orange lamp comes on and you are not sure what it means, check whether it is steady or flashing and read any message on the multifunction screen. If a lamp stays on after the engine has started, look up that lamp before you move off, and if you are still unsure, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Orange lamps are your Peugeot 5008's way of keeping you informed, so it pays to act on them promptly. Keep your handbook in the car for the full details, and have any fault checked so you can keep driving with peace of mind.
