This is a red warning lamp on your instrument panel. It comes on for a few seconds every time you switch on the ignition, which is expected.
If it comes on while the engine is running, it points to one of the following: the charging circuit is not working properly, the battery or starter terminals are slack, the alternator belt is cut or slack, or the alternator has failed.
What to do:
- Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Seat belt not fastened warning light

This is a red warning lamp on your instrument panel. With the ignition on, it lights up if the driver and/or a passenger has not fastened their seat belt.
Above 12 mph (20 km/h), it flashes for two minutes with an audible signal that gets steadily louder. After those two minutes, it stays on until the seat belt is fastened.
What to do:
If the lamp is on steadily:
- Fasten your seat belt and check that your passenger has fastened theirs.
If the lamp is flashing with an audible signal:
- Make sure everyone on board has fastened their seat belt and is wearing it correctly.
Door open warning light

This is a red warning lamp on your instrument panel. It comes on if a door, the bonnet or the boot is still open.
Above 6 mph (10 km/h), it is joined by an audible signal and a message on the multifunction display.
What to do:
- Stop somewhere safe if you are moving.
- Close the open door, bonnet or boot properly.
If You're Not Sure
If a red lamp comes on and you are not sure what it means, stay calm and stop somewhere safe. Check the message on the multifunction display to see which system is concerned, and contact a PEUGEOT dealer for advice.
Red lamps are easy to ignore once you are used to seeing them at start-up, but if one stays on while you are driving, it is telling you something important. Act on it promptly and your Peugeot 1007 will stay safer for longer.
